A Better Marketing plan for Tourism has to be sketched. Tourism has to grow by atleast 16-20% annually. For that the beaurucrats are not the correct agency to relay upon. A different cell needs to develop with professions from tourism industry. Logistics like Better Roads, Airports and Railways have to be necessarily developed. Railways should be developed till Pithoragarh and Valley of flowers. Yes of course the Railways will not earn much and lose but we have a similar case in Arunachal Pradesh where the Railways are still running engines to keep the area under the control of India and not China. UK also needs to be penetrated deep to avoid Chinese control over the region.
Advertisement campaign of UK should be started. A slogan like Incredible India, Malaysia truly Asia etc needs to be invented. People should be made aware of benefits of Tourism.UK should be made pollution free. The Beauty. Culture and The Himalayas should be marketed. Firstly the tourist places should be maintained well. GMVN & KMVN should join hands on that.
Already the Govt will see many companies moving out of UK SEZ when the 10 year of Tax holiday will be over. Thus Tourism is a good option for the state to rise up financially in coming year’s .Creative and Responsible people need to step into the picture. Govt should make authorities responsible and set targets. At least some measures are needed to for Tourism to grow and sustain in UK.
